We use special waterproofing concretes whenever it is necessary to realise underground tubs in the presence of very high aquifers or tubs/basements to storage particular materials (which are polluting for the ground). Such operations make it necessary to use particular products while and casting the reinforced cements, in order to make the building completely waterproof and insulated.

Concrete’s waterproofing is mainly done using two methods: The first one minimises the porosity of the concrete, by using fluidifiers instead of water in the preparation of the mixture. (Water/cement ratio control). The second one acts directly on the cement, crystallising it and making it completely waterproof. The products are mixed in precise doses during the concrete packaging phases. During the casting it is necessary to perform an accurate vibration of the concrete. Particular attention is to be paid to the cold joints, where it becomes necessary to use specific bentonite-based insertions (bentonite is a clay mineral mainly composed of silicate, calcium or sodium). Once the casting is done, they expand their volume up to ten times, creating a pressurised curb that prevents the passage of fluids.
